As a psychotherapist and coach, I learn a lot about the people I work with; their values, their interests and their fears. I commit to creating a collaborative, non-judgmental environment that demonstrates respect and compassion; for each person’s journey is uniquely their own. I’m not the expert on your life you are, so building a trusting relationship is necessary in order for the seeds of change to be planted and grown.
I believe that our interests and passions have no expiration date, therefore I actively incorporate mine into both my personal and professional life. Singing and performing, exercise, baseball, traveling and learning are just to name a few. I practice Mindfulness on a daily basis; formally through meditation and informally, with practices such as conscious breathing, yoga and mindful walking. I love reading about the brain and the fascinating mysteries of the mind/body connection. I am grateful to spend time with my family and friends.
If I could recommend any practice that would produce almost immediate positive effects in one’s life; it would be to LAUGH, and LAUGH OFTEN. And not just the chuckling kind of laugh, but the kind of laugh that comes so deep within the belly it makes your muscles sore. Do this on a daily basis, as often as you can and you will be on your way to positively managing all of what life throws your way.
A life rooted in kindness, non-judgment and ease, is a life full of possibilities.
