My Interests

As a therapist and coach, I learn a lot about the people I work with; their values and interests. This learning contributes to cultivating a trusting therapeutic relationship. But I also believe, any healthy relationship needs a component of reciprocity.

So, in the spirit of reciprocity, here is are some of my values and interests. I value family, growth and purposeful work.

I have a passion for music and performance, from as early as I have memories. I participated in competitive sports, so I enjoy the excitement of watching a game, especially baseball; hearing the crack of the bat or the umpire yell, “Out!,” on a tie breaking slide into home. I practice Mindfulness on a daily basis; formally with meditation and informally, with practices such as conscious breathing and mindful walking. I love reading about the brain and the fascinating mysteries of the mind/body connection. I love to exercise and I find nature healing and restorative.

If I could recommend any practice that would produce almost immediate positive effects in one’s life; it would be to LAUGH, and LAUGH OFTEN. And not just the chuckling kind of laugh, but the kind of laugh that comes so deep within the belly it makes your muscles sore. Do this on a daily basis ideally, as often as you can …

A life lived with ease, even when we are learning, is a life full of possibilities.
